Peru & Ecuador: Presidents to Meet for Binational Cabinet Meeting

The presidents will hold a meeting at the palace, and at the same time the binational cabinet will meet, and after midday the meeting will be closed with speeches by both.
On Thursday, the presidents of Peru, Dina Boluarte, and Ecuador, Daniel Noboa, are set to hold a day of dialogue and agreement on border integration and cooperation, within the framework of the XV Binational Cabinet, a mechanism established in 2007.

The neighboring leader arrived last night at the air base adjacent to Lima airport where he was received by the host foreign minister, Javier González-Olaechea, and after spending the night in Lima he will attend the inauguration of the meeting with the president at the Government Palace.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the agenda covers priority issues such as development and social inclusion, promotion of trade, tourism and investment, security and defense, and sustainable mining and energy development.
They will also discuss sustainable environmental management and the strengthening of air, land, river and maritime transit and transport.
The presidents will hold a meeting at the palace, and at the same time the binational cabinet will meet, and after midday the meeting will be closed with speeches by both.
In closing, Boluarte and Noboa will sign a joint declaration and the Ministers of Labor of the two countries will sign a bilateral cooperation agreement.
This was preceded by the XVI Meeting of the Peruvian-Ecuadorian Neighborhood Commission, which approved the Lima 2024 Action Plan, containing work commitments, actions and binational cooperation projects for the period 2024-2025, the Foreign Ministry reported.
The plan covers 49 commitments on people’s rights, infrastructure and connectivity, security and defense, production, trade, investment and tourism, environmental, energy, mining, social and cultural issues.
